My wire lampshade is finished. And before I found a good lamp bulb for it it looked like this….
And, yepp this is a part of my livingroom (when it is clean)… This bulb was way to weak for the job and then I found another! and it spread massive patterns all over my livingroom. The picture below give you a hint but it is still no fair picture…. perhaps I should capture it on film(?)…

I bought another lamp armature a while back perhaps I will make more lampshades ^^ try new materials maybe…. something to think about!
My lampshade I started on a while back, remember?
It is kind of hanging now, though, I have a few pieces left to do before it is done. I just thought it would be easier to continue while it is hanging : )
I still have the bottom left to make. I don’t think that will take as long as it did me to puzzle the top together though I have a few ongoing projects so therefore it might be another while…. but since it is hanging in the middle of my studio I will go past it all the time to be reminded to finish it! ; )
Finding the things that inspire you.
I have one or two things that inspire me, probably more than two…
I was with my boyfriend at the grocery store the other day and when we were heading for the cashier we just couldn’t help but take a look at some books that were lying around. And there, I found two books, which I adopted. Two children books, but what I laid more focus on was the pictures, the illustrations. In one of them there were two short stories which John Bauer had illustrated, there were a few more illustrators in that book too. Anywho, I read one or two stories and then decided to paint a picture with water colours. I really like the hours when my boyfriend and I sit in his kitchen creating stuff together ❤
The picture then, well… I like parts of it, though it feels a bit schizophreniac. It is as if I have taken my usual style and merged it with something that could be a progress in my style and well anyone can see I have been influenced by John Bauer. Though some parts feels good too, this simply feels like a stepping stone so to say. My character Ophelia and her grandma’s dog is walking through the woods…
Feel free to point out what’s good and bad in this picture, it could really help me when I do my next water colour painting : )
So I have begun my work with my new lamp shade I want to have in my livingroom. I always think the ones you buy are…boring..or…expensive, or at least if you want a unique one then it is expensive. And, I don’t do expensive or boring… I do hard labour to make my one…
In the first photo you can see a small sketch of how I am visualizing it ^^
A few times before when I have made a lamp shade I have begun in one or the other end of it, now I am starting on the middle so the pieces you see is the middle. From here I will be working myself upwards forst and then I will be working it downwards. I noticed something fun when I had put the middle together :3 see below and visualize with me…this will look great when it is finished and in place !
I have some more exciting plans for this lamp shade but I will reveal that later as it comes along : )
And ye btw it will be pretty big, like 55cm i diameter…. length …who knows ^^
Well, it seems like it will work as a lampshade. The problem is to find a good lamp for it. At first I bought a lamp that gave really good light but at the same time it spread the light a bit to well. The pattern in the lampshade did not come forth at all with this lamp.
On my second try I put in a smaller lamp, it gave a warmer light and it turned out that some of the lampshade came forth, not enough though. I think the problem is that the wire is too thin to come forth as shades on the wall. Perhaps I need to make another try and see if I can change the outcome somehow : )
