Making a collection

A description follows in the bottom : )

For once I thought you all could see the whole bunch of pictures before I laid it all out in text. This is a project of mine at the university, I am to make a collection out of ceramics and print on fabric. And above you have seen my ceramics part, I want to create a scene, therefore my print on fabric will also be in line of this theme. This is progress pictures and the final result will look like something else. I will explain more about the final results when it is finished ^^

 

A switch of gifts

A close friend of mine turned 25 yesterday, so I sent her a t-shirt with a dreamcatcher print on, which I had made. Check out her blog to see very lovely she looks wearing it!

This lovely woman texted me a few days back just asking about my favorite colour, I answered blue and purple. Tomorrow I turn 25 and today I got a package, CHECK THIS OUT!

She made me a dreamcatcher! I just love it! This will hang in the bedroom window ❤ ❤ ❤

Who knows, maybe I make one and send back to her during the summer just for the fun of it, and because I know she really like dreamcatchers! ; )

 

Dreamcatcher

Today I printed a t-shirt for my friend Lilié Biskopsdotter. She really wanted a dreamcatcher, and that is what she is getting. I made a drawing for her a while ago and she liked how I had designed the dreamcatcher in that drawing, so I used that drawing as a reference. Here you can find the reference drawing.

 

I am really pleased with how it turned out. The amount of colour and the lines makes it look old and loved! I really hope Lilié will like it too. And it is linoleum I working with.

A process

What I will show you below is a few pictures from my process of working with multible colour prints today.

My teacher thought it looked good, and that I have a few good prints I can use. I am too pleased with what I got from this, but even so, I think I can experiment more with what I got above.

Feet in lino

Will be printed with four different colours next week, and until then I have some carving to do.

Upcoming three-coloured print

I have a few projects going on. And this is one of them! I am testing to print multible colours with linoleum. I have not really done that before. Last week I printed a two-colour print and this coming week I am trying a three-colour print.

In the end of last week I prepared to print a few tshirts, I get a bunch to print every now and then.

Another application

To go into how I am going to order my studies is quite boring and very technical so I will just go straight to the art!

The self-portrait thingy went, well it went straight to hell… so… I am applying to another school instead and the day after hell I started working on the application, which offcourse include art samples. It felt quite ok though since the first task in the application was about portraits. I am going to use photos as reference and then work with multible colour print with linoleum. I really enjoy working with linoleum but not really had the time to try out to print with more than one colour so this will be really exciting. Below is one of my possible reference photos, I have not decided fully which ones to use yet. And I will be a bit crypitcal about the actual assignments I have to do for the application, since I still want to show you all what I am doing but at the same time not give away all my plans.

Wall painting project

Before christmas my class in school got asked if we wanted to paint a corridor which belong to a home for teenagers. We said yes. Wednesday-friday this week we will be painting this corridor. We have the idea of painting a permanent exhibition with framed wall-paintings, and the frames will be painted aswell.

This is my idea.

There will probably be changes, but this is my original idea anyway. Woods with small faeries, nordic mythology style faeries, since I am from Sweden. I will also add a black frame. I will make it into a drawing on the wall, I will not use any colours, I want it look like a lino-print on the wall.

Pictures from this pretty huge project will be shown later this week when it has all started.

Lino and tea

It was a very long time ago I worked with linoleum! Today I had decided with a friend that we would work with linoleum, drink tea and talk lots and lots and so we did. For the time being I think I’ll try just to make something similiar to my ink drawings  and find a red thread throughout my work.

Since I have my acrylic and oil colours in school this will be my project I work with at home. And later I print it in school. We have already decided to meet up next week to continue this lovely tea-talk-carving lino-thingy^^
